One old day,
One day soon,
When the grass will be green.
And the swamp, sodden ground,
Will be dried up and clean.
I will call,
I will ring,
On my cup and string phone.
And the Sunshine in me,
Will no more be all gone.
The streamers are blowing,
And the sun it does shine,
And the children roll down,
On the steady decline.
The breeze is just happy
And the air it is warm,
I take it all in
And my life does transform.
I will take,
I will find,
My old pencil case
And take from it, some white-out
And use it to erase.
I won’t remember, or know
About the cold winter-time.
I’ll be content, overwhelmed
With feeling new and sublime.
I’m gonna see,
I’m gonna hear,
Only good things;
Like, flowers, like puppies
And like phones made with string.
Lovely Corianda. And today we had another taste of Spring. Beautiful sunshine, a light breeze. The washing dried and I walked barefoot on the soft green grass. Your poetry captured it all perfectly.
Thanks darlink Mynx! I believe Spring has arrived and my vitamin D levels are on the way up again!

I love that, just as I'm bidding farewell to Summer, you're welcoming Spring.
We should live vicariously through one another's relative geographical locations.
'Cept I'm in London. It's pretty much p*ssing it down in August just like it p*sses it down in March, so...
Actually, I think I'll just pretend I'm in Australia.
((sigh))

I posted a comment and it rejected me! Welcome to my current life! Anyway...love the sentiment, love Spring - feeling much happier after the blue, blue sky today. Love your work, Corianda!
I really like the phones on the strings bit. I loved the poem!
B- Yes, London weather (vicarious or otherwise) would certainly feel as though I had been short changed in exchange for Aussie weather, plan B, I say!
Lottie: Thankyou darlink, although these torrential rains have unfortunately washed away any recollection of sunshine...
Kelley: Thankyou so much! Cup and String phones? Thee most underrated toy ever. Ever.
Lovely!
